College of Nursing
The College of Nursing clearly recognizes and applies the philosophy of education of the PNU based on principles of truth, freedom and service spirit. Since 1955 when the college was opened we aim to educate and train nurses, who will contribute to the promotion of the health and welfare of state and human society.
To meet the demands of the time for professionalism, the Master's program was established in 1977, and since 2005 four advanced nursing practice courses (geriatric, psychiatric, critical care and infection control area) were opened, so we go on producing highly qualified nurse educators, researchers, health professionals and leaders.
We were promoted to the College of Nursing in 2006, and are recognized as a leading nursing educational establishment. In 2000 the Research Institute of Nursing Science was opened to contribute to the development of Nursing. Numerous joint researches and information exchanges can prove the status of our college as a leader in the field of research. Our plans for future is to extend international exchange, to give our staff more chances for overseas training. Also we intend to move on from traditional mainstream of Western nursing to a grasp of nursing of Asia and will do our's best to introduce Korean nursing to the world.
In early 2009, College of Nursing moved to a new campus in Yangsan after 53 years of being situated in Amidong campus. We are to draw up the systematical plan for college's future development as a hub of nursing science and health promotion in Pusan, Kyongnam and actually in all South-East region. Also we appreciate our professor staff and promise to give ever more opportunities for improvement of educational system and research. Our main aim is a continuous training of nursing leaders, who inherited Nightingale's spirit and possess professional knowledge and skills.
Our college is a center of health care, and we will make steady and persistent effort to keep and develop our status. We will go along with PNU to achieve the leading position in our global age.
